Banda Aceh – If you’re a coffee lover, you might want to visit Banda Aceh. The capital city of Aceh Province will hold an International Banda Aceh Coffee Festival 2016 on May 10-12 at the Blang Field Padang.
The International Banda Aceh Coffee Festival 2016 is a strategy and program of the Tourism Ministry to turn coffee into an attraction to boost domestic and foreign tourist visit to the region.
“The event will be open by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya on Tuesday,” festival committee Ridiana said on Monday, May 9.
The festival will feature two types of coffees from Aceh which are quite renown overseas, including gayo coffee with arabica and robusta type coffee. The event is packed with an exhibition concept comprising 25 booths, including Traditional Coffee Roastery, Traditional Coffee Brewer or straining technique presentation, shake, pull or tubruk of ala traditional coffee shop.
During the three day event, a Coffee Class, Coffee Morning, Coffee Competition, Doodle Coffee Competition will be held, as well as an Accoustic Night and Standup Comedy entertainment.
Previously, Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Saaduddin Djamal says the coffee festival is held annually in Banda Aceh. Although the city does not have a coffee garden, its well known for its coffee shops.
