SKK Migas has approved the allocation of gas to the pipeline Arun, North Aceh to Belawan, North Sumatra. The gas supply will be used for the needs of industrial gas through the pipeline along 350 kilometers. The plan, the gas began to be streamed on December 10, 2014.
Deputy Chief of SKK Migas, John Widjonarko, Tuesday (2/12) states, the allocation of gas to PT Pertamina (Persero) of 185 million standard cubic feet per day or million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) will be supplied for 5 or 6 days, and comes from the tail gas and NSO Aso Field ExxonMobil.
“We would like to thank and welcome the decision and support of SKK Migas, after Arun-Belawan pipeline construction is completed, the gas flows immediately,” said President Director of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), Hendra Jaya, Monday (1/12).
With Arun-Belawan pipeline operation, the primary energy needs for industry and electricity in Aceh and North Sumatra can be fulfilled, in the future in addition to meeting the needs of Electrical Power Gas and Steam (PLTGU) Belawan in North Sumatra, Arun-Belawan pipeline is expected to helped a number of industries in Aceh and North Sumatra that now less than the maximum production as PT Fertilizer Iskandar Muda (PIM) in Lhokseumawe, Medan Industrial Estate (KIM) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Sei Mangkei.
