“Two of the four investors are from abroad and they will cooperate with local companies and start investing in 2010,” he said.
A company from China, he said, would start investing in the field of fishery namely fishing in the Aceh Besar and Sabang waters.
The company will also set up a processing industry to make the fishery product a prime export of the region.
Anwar said Aceh Besar in a near future will also set up a steel construction company with an investment of up to around Rp50 billion.
“That will become a national steel construction industry which will cooperate with a local company,” he said.
He said a Malaysian company had also committed to investing in the agricultural sector in the region this year.
“The Malaysian investor will develop cacao plantations in Pidies and Pidie Jaya,” he said.
A Korean investment meanwhile will invest in mined products in the province`s western and southern coastal areas,” he said.
Anwar said his office keep promoting the region`s investment potentials among national as well as international businessmen.
“We have done all that because the potential is huge while Aceh`s location is strategic with regard to international trade lanes,” he said.
