Fuel Price Increase Triggers Inflation in Aceh

THE increase price of Fuel (BBM) in mid-November triggers inflation in the province of Aceh at 1.35 percent. While the rate of inflation in each of the three city of Banda Aceh 1.28 percent, 1.60 percent Lhokseumawe city, and Meulaboh 1.08 percent.

Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Aceh, Herman, Monday (1/12) said inflation that occurred in Aceh due to rising prices in transportation, communication and financial services by 4.15 percent, followed by 1.76 percent and food ingredients housing, electricity, water, gas and other fuels by 0.61 percent. “Inflation in Aceh until November reached 5.98 percent,” said Herman.

He said, the transportation, communications and financial services directly impacted as a result of increase in fuel prices. Increase in tariffs Automated Teller Machine (ATM) also affects the rate of inflation in Aceh. However, Herman explained, some commodity price also decreased among others eggs at 0.0776 percent and 0.0325 percent of gold jewelry, 0.1220 percent wet shrimp, and fish dencis of 0.0416 percent.
