President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today inaugurated the section 4 of the Banda Aceh-Sigli toll road. The 13.5-kilometer section connects Blang Bintang and Indrapuri.
“I officially inaugurate the Blang Bintang-Indrapuri section of the Banda Aceh-Sigli toll road today,” President Jokowi said in Aceh on Tuesday.
The Banda Aceh-Sigli toll road will be the first toll road in Aceh Province. The planned length of the Banda Aceh-Sigli toll road is 74 kilometers.
The Head of State said that the project was fully supported by regional leaders and local residents. He revealed that the land acquisition process of the project didn’t face significant obstacles.
“The land acquisition process in Aceh was one of the quickest,” he said.
According to the president, the toll road is expected to boost economic activities in Aceh province. In addition, the project is also intended to create more jobs for local residents.
