Sabang Marine Festival 2024 (SMF24) as an Sabang annual agenda, which will be filled with a series of activities and interesting tourist attractions that must be visited.
“With the theme of the Biggest Maritime Celebration in Aceh, we will hold SMF 2024 on March 1-3, at several locations in Sabang,” said Acting Mayor of Sabang Reza Fahlevi, at the SMF24 Press Conference, at the Sabang-Merauke Twin Monument, Last Thursday (15/2/2024).
He explained that the government, together with regional officials and other stakeholders, would enrich this festival with various cultural and marine tourism attractions that would make SMF 2024 even more lively.
Marine parade performances, cultural parades and colossal dances with the theme Piasan Melaot (Tarek Pukat) will be the opening act that will hypnotize the audience.
“We are opening up participation for MSME players in the Fisherman’s Village Exhibition, whether presenting sea products, seafood or other creative MSME products,” he added.
Not only that, ethnic music, beach clean-up activities, as well as various marine-themed competitions are also free to participate in for interested people.
“In the various marine-themed competitions, there is the Jaloe Pacu Race (traditional rowing competition), Open Water Swimming and Fishing Competition. Apart from that, the Geulayang Tunang Festival will also enliven on SMF 2024,” he said.
It was further stated that SMF24 was implemented collaboratively by the Badan Pengusahaan Kawasan Sabang (BPKS) and the Sabang City Government through the Tourism Office, the Aceh Government through the Aceh Culture and Tourism Service, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and supported by other parties including the TNI, Polri, private sector, as well as the community.
“It is estimated that more than 1,000 people will be involved in the 2024 Sabang Marine Festival consisting of artists, business/tourism actors, traditional and environmental communities as well as event support workers,” he added.
SMF24 will be held for 3 days, March 1-3 2024 at several locations, namely the Menara Merah Putih as the center of activity, Jl. Diponegoro in front of the Sabang Mayor’s Office, CT1 Pier, CT-3 Pier, Triangle Park, Aneuk Laot Tourism Village, Anoi Itam Tourism Village, Teupin Ciriek Tourism Village, le Meulee Tourism Village, Gapang Beach and Kasih Beach.
