Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf met with the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Northern Territory of Australia, Hon. Gerard Maley, at the JS Luwansa Hotel, South Jakarta, on Monday evening, October 27, 2025.
During the meeting, Muzakir Manaf, familiarly known as Mualem, discussed the Aceh Government’s planned collaboration with the Australian Northern Territory government regarding the development of cattle farming and agriculture.
Mualem strongly supported this meeting and is ready to collaborate, especially as it is closely related to the future economic growth of Aceh.
“The Aceh government is ready to collaborate and is open to opportunities for investors in the livestock sector. Because, regarding the development of cattle farming or cattle breeding, we have land, and we will prepare it,” he said.
In addition to livestock, Mualem mentioned the potential for cooperation in agricultural development in Aceh to support the government’s ongoing food self-sufficiency program, such as rice and corn cultivation.
“Another potential development potential lies in Acehnese coffee, found in the Central Aceh region. Its top-quality coffee is already internationally recognized, having long been exported abroad,” he said.
Therefore, Mualem invited the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Northern Territory of Australia to visit Aceh to observe firsthand the development of livestock and agriculture there.
The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Northern Territory of Australia, Gerard Maley, welcomed this planned collaboration. His office is ready to supply beef cattle or cattle seeds to Aceh.
“For the visit to Aceh, we may send relevant officials there so they can see firsthand the purposes of this collaboration,” Maley said.
Furthermore, his office also supports young people in Aceh who wish to study livestock and agriculture in the region.
On that occasion, Mualem was accompanied by the Head of the Aceh Reintegration Agency (BRA), Jamaluddin, S.H., M.Kn., and Special Staff to the Governor of Aceh, T. Irsyadi.
